Even worse, the characters are so poorly drawn. I know nothing about the main character, Jenny, really. I know she's apparently a good enough cellist to be attending college for it, despite the fact that she doesn't seem to practice nearly enough. I know that she has a mother and a grandmother. I know that she likes an even less interesting character named Jaewoo. And that's about it. This book was pure joy to read. If you're looking for a lighthearted, fresh, and fun romance, Oh's latest is absolutely for you" — Buzzfeed First of all I hope there will be a book about Min sori and Nathaniel❤️( well it could be a series about all of the XOXO’s members😁👀🤭). I hope so.

My only critique is that the ending conflict felt a little cliche and unnecessary, but otherwise I loved this so much I love that this main character Jenny gets a chance to explore South Korea and visit family she hasn’t met beforeFinally I finished reading sorry I didn't update* This started out PRETTY good, but then ended up being lamer than I expected which was really sad. If you want a solid K-pop book, read Bias! With fun K-drama vibes, XOXO delivers a lot of heart and warmth in its protagonist who stays true to herself to the very end.” — Lyla Lee, author of I’ll Be the One For a dream come true and realistic fan-meets-idol scenario in snowy Seoul (with MOUTH-WATERING food descriptions)

When Jenny heard her grandmother is terminally ill, she and her mom flew to South Korea and for the meantime, she's an international transfer student in an elite arts academy. Stars aligned, she and Jaewoo crossed paths and learned that he's a superstar. However, he's forbidden to date. XOXO follows Jenny and Jaewoo who meet unexpectedly in Los Angeles at Jenny’s uncle noraebang, or karaoke bar. They have a magical night of dancing, singing, and exploring the city before Jaewoo suddenly leaves. Three months later, Jenny and her mother move to South Korea to care for her ailing grandmother, and while she’s there, she’s enrolled in Seoul’s most prestigious arts academy. Filler scenes: 10/10 Okay so I pretty much loved these, the average, normal scenes of the school and them just doing fun things that is filler for the book. They were so much fun to experience, especially since there was a lot of people and relationships to make it interesting, which leads us to...When she arrives at the school, she unexpectedly runs into Jaewoo who turns out to be the most popular idol in Korea’s most popular boy band, XOXO. You can think of the plotline as True Beauty meets Dream High plus any cheesy and fun pop-star Wattpad story. Oh’s narrative reaches an enjoyable clip that is both accessible to readers unfamiliar with K-pop and pleasing for fans of K-dramas as well as anyone who enjoys a breezy contemporary romance." — Publishers Weekly Korean Culture: WHOPPING 4/10 SO DISSAPOINTED IN YOU LADY, HAVE YOU EVER EVEN BEEN TO KOREA?? You all... it took me a while to get over the beginning, where she walks in on 3 aunts watching a K-drama, right at the kiss scene, two of them *collapse into sighs* and one of them *throws their sandals at the tv*. I'm sorry, is this your idea of how Korean culture is? We watch tv shows like NORMAL human beings! It felt like every time she was trying to write in the culture, she would grossly overexaggerate like a 12-year-old sitting in Texas writing a BTS fanfiction and trying to be "culturally authentic." When it was over, I immediately wanted to read it for the first time again.' - Kasie West, author of The Fill-In Boyfriend
