A great opportunity to collect all 9 bottles released as part of the final season of HBO's Game of Thrones series. In collaboration with Diageo, nine iconic, limited release single malts have been paired with the 7 kingdoms of Westeros and the Night's Watch, to create a truly unique collection that's a must for series fans and serious collectors alike. The full Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection is made up of nine 70cl bottles including: On the other hand, it is also a means that Diageo can reach the majority of Game of Thrones viewers who are not yet into whisky. This crossover will introduce many new consumers to the delights of whisky and maybe move them away from vodka or other 'lighter' drinks.” Palate: Mild, building to a malt-driven peak with fresh berries and a touch of crisp citrus. Full-bodied and artful. The tapering, malt-driven finish has biscuits with marmalade, nutmeg, and some nice evolved woody tannin. An interesting mix of confectionery, fruit, and holiday baking space, integrated and textured. Capturing the House Stark is Dalwhinnie, one of the highest distilleries in Scotland that mirrors House Stark’s resiliency, strength and ability to thrive under the most frigid, extreme temperatures. House Targaryen is aptly paired with legendary Scotch house Cardhu. Scotland's own mother of dragons, the rebellious Helen Cumming, trail-blazed the success in making Cardhu one of the most iconic names in Scotch.

Enrico: “Collecting the GOT whisky is definitely fun, all the different label, edition, names - they all appeal in different ways. But I think that it's smart to buy what tastes good, or what we believe is likely to be good whisky to drink.” Mark: “For whisky lovers this is an exciting collection, primarily because some of the bottles (not all!) contain a completely new variation of their beloved Scotch, such as Lagavulin, Talisker or Clynelish. The Glendullan was originally only available in the United States, but now comes to Europe as well. Nose: Orange zest, milk chocolate, gentle peat smoke, apple, pear, lemon, tangerine. Very appealing. Made by various distilleries under the Diageo umbrella, these eight single malts were chosen to commemorate the final season of one of the greatest shows in TV history. Clynelish Reserve: An underlying, complex combination of Highland and maritime notes, complemented by bursts of fresh tropical fruits that give way to a smooth vanilla character.Palate: Extremely well integrated, with a very crescendo-like feel. Rich papaya, mango, and banana linger on the palate, plus yeated bread and caneles. There’s a touch of very gentle milk chocolate and a whisper of elderflower. The finish is endless, really feeling as if it clings to your tongue. Water brings out more smoky and maritime notes, plus milky white corn and marzipan. Bizarre and lovely. The Singleton of Glendullan Select: Spice and rich and creamy aromas of sandalwood and fruit on the nose. The palate is sweet with spice, fruits and deep notes of violets and orange peel. The finish is intense, warm and dry with an aromatic aftertaste. Mark: “It only takes a little bit of imagination to link the whisky to the House it represents. For example: linking Talisker to the House Greyjoy makes sense. Talisker is a coastal distillery on the Isle of Skye, while the House Greyjoy are a sea-faring people that worship the Drowned God and live on the coast of the Iron Islands. The collection makes sense from this point of view. Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old: Subtle aromas of oak and candied spice on the nose. The palate is a harmonious abundance of fruit and spice enhanced by creamy v flavors of vanilla, coffee and a touch of baking spice. The finish is elegant with a subtle nutmeg, dessert note.

Clynelish distillery’s landscape echoes the geography of House Tyrell’s green and fertile HighGarden home in the land of Westeros. This single malt has an underlying, complex combination of Highland and maritime notes, complemented by bursts of fresh tropical fruits that give way to a smooth vanilla character.Oban Bay Reserve: Deep, rich notes of cherry pie and candied citrus peel blossom on the palate, drifting into a wonderful crème caramel with just a hint of charred oak. Nose: Shy and nectar-like. Marzipan croissant, cheese Danish, brioche, plus freshly waxed hardwood floor and clean wool sweater. Creamy, toasty, strange, and a bit tingly in the nose. This complete collection also includes a set of tasting samples of all nine single malts, and all three limited edition Johnnie Walker Whiskies that were also released in collaboration with the hit TV show. Each of the twelve 25ml miniature tasting tubes are housed in a beautiful presentation box and come with a tasting booklet. Representing House Greyjoy is a Talisker single malt truly fitting for House Greyjoy. This whisky is distilled on the shores of the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote and rugged areas of Scotland. House Baratheon is represented by Royal Lochnagar’s 12-Year-Old single malt, a regal balance of fruits and spices.

There’s also a pronounced Concord grape note, some grassy/stemmy stuff, honey, and a good dose of leathery vanilla bean.

Palate: Again, that classic Oban chocolate-orange thing is front and center, but there’s some extra lactic tang in the finish reminiscent of leesy chardonnay. The finish is strong, with yeasty bread, shortbread, and a drying sensation that invites another sip. Lean and muscular. A little bit plain, but nicely enjoyable.
