With the included example tutorial data file to load in the mpc, to make it very easy to follow along. Akai Professional’s reimagined MPC 2 Software drives MPC Live II in both standalone and controller modes. Channeling the spirit of its famous predecessor into a modern unit made for portable playability, the Akai MPC Live Standalone Sampler/Sequencer is a versatile option for home production and performance alike. The Akai MPC Live II is a professional standalone sampling workstation with a 7 inch full color multi touch display and runs without computer connection. Combined with a built-in battery and wi-fi/bluetooth connectivity, it's the perfect mobile production workhorse.

Something I've criticised about the MPC is the sometimes disjointed nature of its various views and modes. I encourage every person who’s having difficulty to purchase this book and snuggle up under these hundreds of pages of time saving info! including: audio track recording, an improved time warp algorithm, refined Q-Link control, audio and MIDI drag and drop – all appearing on a new graphical interface. You also get 16GB of internal storage, plus external hard drive support, a full-size SD card slot, and USB-A 3. Simplify your sample browsing and auditioning with on-board Splice and Ableton Live integration in MPC Live II.CV was already included on the larger MPC X, but given the proliferation of accessible analogue gear and Eurorack systems, it makes a sensible addition here too. Inside you'll find 793 pages of hands-on MPC X, MPC One, MPC Key and MPC Live tutorials that teach you the modern 'touchscreen' version of the classic MPC workflow!

TubeSynth emulates the sound of classic analog polysynths with analog modeling technology, combined with 5 integrated AIR effects. Four capacitive-touch knobs and an arsenal of dedicated buttons put all the important functions you need at your fingertips. It wouldn’t make sense for me to jump into AKAI’s ecosystem of hardware, software, and plugins because it gives me some vague sense that it will somehow make me more productive, creative, fulfilled, …? On the Push, it seems very easy to discover which combinations work well together, similar to the MC-x0x which I enjoyed. As well as the more familiar Input, Auto, and Off modes, there's Merge, which give you both playback and input monitoring at the same time. The Studio has the advantage of the touch strip controller which the Live II lacks, and creating everything on the PC allows me to keep all my samples in one place (which makes it easier to backup) and avoids having to transfer tracks from the Live II for mixdown/post-production, but I'm wondering if they pads are smaller/inferior, or if there's anything else I need to be aware of? The plugins are great starting point if you don't have a lot of hardware or you don't have them near you. The MPC lineup is just so well evolved as a groove box, that it’s obviously going to perform better here.

All depends if Maschine+ will still feel abandoned and if a Live 2+ will come out… so I’ll gove it a try. Also, the new MPC keys 61, the MPC X and MPC one share the same processor as the MPC live 2 thus we can expect long support from AKAI (there have been multiples useful updates in the last year). Sporting 16GB of internal storage, the MPC Live II offers you plenty of space for your sample collection. CV connectivity, advanced multi-channel MIDI capabilities, built-in battery and stereo speakers - all in a single portable enclosure. When we reviewed the previous MPC Live, we said the software – in standalone mode, at least – felt occasionally convoluted and disjointed, and we stand by that criticism now; there are a lot of different views and menus to navigate, and while much of the workflow is intuitive, some features end up buried amongst sub-menus.
