I think they're pretty useful if you're going into a mine and have to deal with an enemy (eg: miner) that won't budge from anything short of Strike damage.
If you look at the center of the light reflection and follow the swirl marks up to the triangle straight above, you’ll notice how much more of those become apparent when using the LED light compared to the xenon. Reason being, not only is the LED Brinkmann stronger in terms of light output in the center beam, but all that light shoots out into a wider beam which helps spot some of the micro marring or swirling in areas outside the exact spot where the light is pointed. in the showcase video there's a weapon (top-left of gargoyle twinblade) that's actually not in any guide and never found it. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page.For enthusiast and pro detailers, you can use the light to gauge your polishing progress instead of spending valuable time moving a car in and out of the garage just to check your work. Its fast enough to use against most bosses and its reach and moveset trivializes not only groups of trash mobs but also really hard-to-hit enemies like Black Knife Assassins. Managed to find an Eclipse Crest Greatshield by farming the headless knight in front of black knife catacombs in Liurnia (in front of the location as one of the black knight assassin bosses). Greatshields, while guarding, also have the ability to cause a lot of attacks barring heavy guard-breaking ones to bounce off them, interrupting a lot of enemy combos and opening them up to guard counters. A drop from a ladder onto concrete caused the charging port to break, so I had to fix it up by drilling a hole for the wires, gluing the part to the back of the spotlight and then soldering the wires to the charger.
For me when that happened to a few lights it was either the battery wouldn’t charge (in this case though the light usually comes on) or there’s an issue with the wiring or charging port (mine broke a couple times). The limiting factor for Greatshields should be WEIGHT, not STR requirement, because a greatshield is heavy but it's not likely you're swinging most of them around. The Xenon flashlight seems to be better suited at finding heavy swirls and Random Isolated Deep Scratches.I'd absolutely give the G2 one step higher rating than the Maxfire though the Maxfire is a better value. This weapon is for the player who likes spinning slash attacks that hit multiple targets at the same time. Because it is a true show car, it had an exceptional finish with only very light swirls but the standard for a show car like this is zero swirls. I didn’t do any color correction to the photos to show how different the light looks reflecting off the white paint.
On a side note, I have absolutely no idea what that triangle is and I didn’t plan for it to be in the photos, but was extremely happy when I saw it on my laptop as I knew it’ll be a great point of reference :). You want to hold the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light about 12" to 16" away from the surface you're inspecting and hold it at an angle so that the light bounces back to your eyes. Kinda sucks that this page has the shields offensive info listed instead of their defensive properties. The LED spotlight is what I have been using for a majority of the work since I came across it roughly 3-4 years ago.For more thorough information in general on using light to find defects during paint correction work, I would highly recommend reading the article by Marc Harris and Jacob Bunyan on Using Handheld Lights for Paint Inspection: Brinkmann LED vs. The best advantage is that they count as only one weapon so you need less stones to upgrade them compared to dual wielding, and weapon buffs affect both ends, which is huge if using flaming strike, lightning strike, sacred blade or bloodflame blade. The in-laws brought over a pile of dead battery and burnt out lamp maglights and asked me to set them up with some lights that will work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink. The LED’s light, being more blue, shows less detail in its reveal of defects, and the color is much more intense to the eyes.
As I said toward the beginning, both of these lights are great tools and must have to inspect all different types and colors of paint.I'm aware you can use shields to attack, hell even do a shields-only run, but to list here their offensive properties only rather than their defensive properties is clearly pointless. Just about everyone that saw Mike demonstrate this light during the classes wanted to take one home so Max brought them in so everyone can inspect their paint just like Mike shows in the classroom. I am very happy about this change, when I read in the patch notes that bleed buildup on dual weapons was nerfed I was sad since it was the first time I tried out a bleed build and it felt really powerful, but after playing around with it I realized it actually made the gameplay more fun, I no longer feel like using anything other than jumping L1s is me losing DPS.
