About this deal

David Shrigley was born on September 17th, 1968, in Macclesfield, Cheshire, and grew up in Oadby, Leicestershire. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. While drawing is at the centre of his practice, the artist also works across an extensive range of media including sculpture, large-scale installation, animation, painting, photography and music. Neon lights will be delivered in 2-4 weeks, as they are made in small batches and shipped separately from other items. Personalised advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out.

Self-branded as an outsider in the art world, Shrigley is known for making flat compositions that take on the inconsequential, the bizarre, and the disquieting elements of everyday life. From there he went to the Glasgow School of Art and gained a degree in environmental art, graduating in 1991 and staying in the city for another 27 years. Today, David Shrigley’s art is recognisable for his satirical drawings, which explore the mundane through a childlike wonder and incisive sense of humour. If you’re browsing the collection of prints and multiples to introduce a pop of color in a neutral corner of your living room or bedroom, you can find work that includes elements of blue, red, orange and other colors. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. He took the Art and Design Foundation course at Leicester Polytechnic in 1987, moving on to study environmental art at Glasgow School of Art in 1988, where he remained until 1991.

The white area is bare paper, around which the artist has filled in the contours of the car and the elephant with black ink, applied with a brush. Shrigley was nominated for the 2013 Turner Prize and awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours List 2020.Finding out Shaka - our award winning pale ale - was his new favourite drink gave us the idea about making a beer with him.
