About this deal

There are obviously also a few new side characters, and one of them I loved most of all: Nazeera is my Wife™ and I’m so happy that Juliette finally has a much needed female friendship. Nazeera is just too iconic and I can’t wait to see more of her in the next book. I've been waiting so long for this. And since i've been so calm throughout the duration of this review, allow me to release my true feelings: Quietly, she says, “I feel like I just spoiled the surprise. You’re not supposed to see any of this until the wedding night.” I grab my nearly useless pen with the very little ink I’ve learned to ration each day and stare at it. Change my mind. Abandon the effort it takes to write things down. Having a cellmate might be okay. Talking to a real human being might make things easier. I practice using my voice, shaping my lips around the familiar words unfamiliar to my mouth. I practice all day.

Warner is depicted like any other supposedly dreamy boy (tall, blonde, strong, smart....) the perfect perfection...or is he??? Ignite Me: Best book of the Series so far. Get Yourself a Kenji. Warner MVP! Adam.. we're cool, you should date Alia. Lots of Goosebump moments. You know, love, it occurs to me now that I’ve lived through hostage situations less torturous than this.” I'm a bit displeased with the ending though - loads of loose ends. Can I hope there may be more? Probably not since the author's note signaled quite a definitive end - for Juliette's story anyway. Ah well. Nothing is wrapped up neatly in life, anyway. i don't have enough characters left in this review to make a list of all the things i loved. there were imperfect parts, and i was wary that i would have to pretend this never happened, but i can only repeat: OH MY GODThe world its set in isn’t too bad but it isn’t focused on enough, or else we missed it in-between the personifications of the sun and metaphors about breathing. Its a typical dystopia, world gone wrong little group of rebels out to save everything. Except this group of rebels all have magical powers. Kenji is perfect, he provides a great comedic relief. Juliette’s and his relationship was well needed for the story and i appreciate their relationship growing over time. Defy Me” explores the complexities of identity, trust, and redemption, as the characters are pushed to their limits. With its heart-stopping twists, emotional revelations, and pulse-pounding action, this installment raises the stakes to unprecedented levels, leaving readers breathless and hungry for the epic conclusion to come. The devastatingly romantic novella in Shatter Me series, chronicling the events after Imagine Me, the explosive sixth novel. Juliette and Warner fought hard to take down the Reestablishment once and for all. Life in the aftermath isn’t easy, as they and their friends at the Sanctuary work with their limited resources to stabilize the world. Warner has his sights set on more than just politics. Since he proposed to Juliette two weeks ago, he’s been eager to finally marry her, the person he loves more than anything and has endured so much to be with. But with so much chaos around them, it’s been nearly impossible for them to have a wedding. And even Juliette has been distracted by everything they need to do. At long last, Warner and Juliette’s future together is within reach, but the world continues to try to pull them apart. Will they finally be able to be happily, officially, together?

I found myself drowning in her words and not wanting to come up for air. I wanted the waves of her writing to crash over me and pull me further and further out. I'm pretty sure I held my breath the whole time I was reading this series (which might I add I finished in less than two days). I will say I am a cis person and I don’t want to overstep my boundaries, but this book is just too new at the point in which I’m reviewing it and I haven’t been able to find an ownvoices trans reviewer talk about this. If you find one please send it my way. but the obvious immitation was the ACOTAR theme of hating on the first love interest to make way for the grey red flag character Shatter Me had me rooting so wholehearted for Adam & Juliette to escape and find solace in each other, and my heart broke a million times over for both of them in Unravel Me. I never, ever thought that I would waiver in my opinion on Adam and Warner, but Ignite Me brought it all into perspective for both Juliette and the readers. Juliette ultimately chooses the right path, for the right reasons and it's beautiful to watch it all come into focus. This is one love triangle that actually has real substance in the story, something I never thought I'd say:/

Since finishing this series I have found myself comparing any book I have read or am reading to it. Never has a writer made me fall so in love with characters and made me feel like whatever happened to them was happening to me. Her characters will steal your heart and soul. Juliette will make you feel empowered and brave. Adam will make you remember what love feels like. Warner will show you everything you secretly want and OH BOY WILL YOU WANT IT, and Kenji will be the friend you've always wanted. With Mafi’s signature poetic prose and intense storytelling, “Reveal Me” explores themes of family, identity, and the complex dynamics between siblings. This novella adds depth to the overarching narrative, leaving readers captivated and eager to uncover the fate of these extraordinary characters in the final installment of the series.

I could seriously keep going, but I'll spare you the novel of a review I could write and leave you with this..... One side effect of this is that throughout the book there are crossed out lines, as if Juliette is writing in a journal and crosses out things she initially wrote, but changed her mind.Just because I was told it gets better and because I was promised a strong Female lead (a unicorn amongst books🦄) Unite Me” is a bind-up novella collection by Tahereh Mafi, featuring two companion stories from the Shatter Me series: “Destroy Me” and “Fracture Me.” I get Juliette instant attraction to Adam, first person to be able to touch her her whole life? Shes gonna feel something. That something however is not love, if anything its lust and the first taste of friendship she’s ever had all mushed up. And that’s being generous to Mr Dull Potato Adam. The only redeeming quality to Adam is his love for is brother James. I do love it when YA shows some good sibling relationships.

What a character. I think hes responsible for at least 3 stars of my review. Without him I would not have been able to read on. He is amazing, fanastic, brilliant, perfect… AAAGH, there are no words for him… My favorite book in the series was Defy Me where the author discloses some mind-boggling truths that change the entire perspective of Aaron and Juliette's life. I have nothing but a small notebook and a broken pen and the numbers in my head to keep me company. 1 window. 4 walls. 144 square feet of space. 26 letters in an alphabet I haven’t spoken in 264 days of isolation.

The Start of Juliette’s Story

The thing is, this scene isn’t necessarily unrealistic, but I think when writing any kind of queer representation you have to ask yourself, who are you writing this for? The answer should always be that you are writing this for queer people to see themselves represented. This scene didn’t feel at all like it was written for trans people. Especially since the comments weren’t challenged at all, and it was all so sudden and unexpected that there is no way a trans reader would have time to prepare themselves to see the transphobia coming. Fracture Me” (2013) by Tahereh Mafi is a gripping novella that provides a crucial glimpse into the mind of Adam Kent, one of the key characters in the “Shatter Me” series. Set in the midst of a turbulent revolution, this installment offers a deeper understanding of Adam’s inner struggles and the challenges he faces. Destroy Me” (2012) by Tahereh Mafi is a compelling novella that delves deep into the psyche of Warner, one of the most enigmatic and complex characters in the “Shatter Me” series. Set in the aftermath of the first book, this story offers a unique perspective, allowing readers to see the world through Warner’s eyes. Toui, Meriam. "Tahereh Mafi"s "Shatter Me" (review)". Michigan Journal. Archived from the original on 28 October 2014 . Retrieved 28 October 2014. The psychopath in question winks at me from where he’s standing, smiling like he couldn’t possibly be holding a gun to the head of our mutual friend. I manage to suppress a laugh.
