Retrieved 2022-12-22.You’re very active on social media to stay connected to your fans, but it almost seems like social media itself is kind of counter intuitive to the whole Eastern spiritual view, because it’s so busy and conflict-ridden. Do you have any struggles with social media as an artist?

No, it’s not intentional. And I’m trying to be really straightforward and and just say what I’m feeling as I’m writing. It’s only in retrospect that I realized there’s a lot of weird turns or a lot of things that confuse or titillate or surprise people, but that wasn’t my intention. The beefy riffs of “Records” travel the well-trod path of “Hash Pipe,” “Dope Nose,” and a million other variations on a tired formula. Vinyl scratches add a literal interpretation of the song’s lyrics, which also include lazily rhymed references to Lana, Rihanna, and Nirvana. The choruses about a record spinning “round and round” are almost as incessantly annoying as Blue October’s “ Jump Rope.” Then, just when you think it can’t get any worse, we get “Blue Like Jazz,” as Cuomo begs someone to teach him how to be “cool like that” with a pained falsetto and corny shredding that sounds like Evanescence. Join Weezer in this work in progress as they explore the Four Seasons in a set of four mini albums. I mean, a lot of the songs are short... It's a lot. It's definitely a lot. And you know, we've announced it. We've committed to doing it... and yet we haven't actually done it yet. So it's uh, it'll be a challenge. But everyone knows what we're in for and we're all into it and we want to do it. And hopefully we don't drive our managers too crazy, because it's going to be a ton of work. We’ve done it from time to time; not on every record, but we go (play a show) under the name Goat Punishment. And we’ve been doing it since the late ‘90s. Most people don’t know who Goat Punishment is, but there’s some fans in town who do and they’re sure to show up and they know they’re not going to be hearing “Beverly Hills” or “Island in the Sun”; they’re going to be hearing some new stuff or some very experimental stuff that’s not going to be polished. It seems like you’ve evolved so well with a music industry that is constantly evolving and shifting.Do you feel that this is your grand finale to the series of EPs? That you delivered on a satisfying conclusion? No, I don't. I just love building stuff, and every morning I wake up and come down to my studio and build stuff, and then we have to figure out what to do with it. I might be wrong on this, but it feels in what I've heard that you're using a lot more acoustic instruments for the spring collection. Was that by design?
