Briggs: Briggs was one of the places to go in the town for some fancy footwear. The store was located in High Street, close to what is now Barclays Bank. Toys R Us: Nine jobs were lost as Burton's Toys R Us closed to make way for the larger Next store. The toy store had been located in Swan Walk, outside Coopers Square shopping centre. The toy shop bosses said they wanted to find a new premises in Burton but failed to do so.
