About this deal

Oogie has one of the most gruesome deaths of any Disney villains, as Jack tearing off his sack is actually tearing off his skin, and every bug being killed is every time Oogie gets murdered, so he feels that pain over-and-over again.

Bryan Theiss declares that "Sally is one of those rare fantasy characters we can relate to on a certain level as much as we can to real-world characters on a more literal level. The Mayor of Halloween Town appears in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, but his role is fairly minor. They also cause mischief as obstacles in the "Making Presents" mini game, before and after the fight with the Experiment. Without wasting any time, Jack arrives at Oogie's funhouse after learning his friends were kidnapped and successfully rescues Sally and Santa just in time before they fall in a magma pit. Lines in both " Kidnap the Sandy Claws" and " Oogie Boogie's Song" state that Oogie eats "snake and spider stew". Oogie was also apparently somewhat lecherous and provocative, which was evident when he is easily preoccupied by Sally's bare (and dismembered) leg. However, because Oogie had swallowed the Heart, the energies inside of it resurrected him and merged him with his manor. He is rather jovial, despite his heinousness, but is also quick-tempered, making him somewhat unpredictable.

After hearing stories about the supposed "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, an envious Oogie Boogie became obsessed with outclassing Jack as the scariest ghoul there is. Oogie Boogie did not appear in Tim Burton's original poem, but Burton later sketched a portrait of what appeared to be a potato sack man with horrible things inside. While Yvonne Tasker notes "the complex characterization seen in The Nightmare Before Christmas," [29] Michael A. Frankenstein is seen in Halloween Town during the ending of "This is Halloween" clapping in the crowd in Town Square. His manner of doing so developed into a coup to take over Halloween and rebranding it as "Crawloween"—a holiday dedicated to bugs.

Partway through this process, he confronts Oogie's two strongest monsters, the Fire King and the Ice King, and claims the Christmas Door from them. According to The Nightmare Before Christmas Trading Card Game, their names are Alberto (a Bass), Pietro (a Baritone), Luciano (a Tenor), Sophia (an Alto), and Maria (a Soprano). He is shown as a statue for his tombstone as Zero rumbles inside of it, with a gambling-like design on the bottom and a saw in the back. After this, the Vampire Brothers state they opposed Oogie's plan, as it was not the Halloween that Jack wanted, which led to them getting trapped in their bat forms. New Disney Fine Art: Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas Limited Edition by Artist Jim Salvati Archived 2009-01-08 at the Wayback Machine," TechWhack (November 3rd, 2008). There are three shots in the entire film that were filmed at 24 frames per second, one is the opening overhead shot of the trees in the forest, the fog coming out of the fountain, and the other one is the bugs falling into the hot stew in Oogie Boogie's lair.
